Budgies!

Learning About Photos and Images

Well, where does the time go when you are playing and having fun? I could spend all day here.....but lunch time beckons!
I had never used Flickr before and found it interesting. I need to go back and learn more about it as I feel I only touched the base. I was feeling somewhat "technologically challenged" so I ended up using the help tool to assist me in finding where to upload the photos I was choosing. I am still not sure how I got there, but I did, so I just kept adding more pictures! Photos appeal to all my senses and are a great addition to the written word. I think it is very useful for our work within the library setting whether it be for use on the website or showing patrons what is available for them to use. Great for visual learners, like me.
Had never heard about mashups at all (at least I had heard about Flickr....). I found one called "Hockneyizer" and made a collage.
The image generators were neat! I liked the chalkboard writing image generator (just for fun!) so I gave it a try.

My family and I have been Ranger fans for many years so we really enjoyed their climb to the Memorial Cup last season! Winning the OHL Championship was very exciting and we were there!

Lake Huron Sunset

I love sunsets and I enjoy Lake Huron in the
summer. This photo just makes me feel good!

What I Hope to Learn

Well, I have already learned something......about blogs! I hear about them all the time, and now here I am with my own! That is neat! I am looking forward to using it and checking out all the details about it.
I am eager to learn more about the technological world that is growing so quickly. This is important for me to know more about both professionally and personally.
When I look at the course outline, I realize I have heard about many of the things mentioned (such as Flickr) but really know very little about them. Hopefully with this new awareness, I will use them more, and be more comfortable in telling others about them.
I am looking forward to 71/2 - playing!
